I grew up in the 1960’s with a mother who believed in home facials. She taught me how to care for my skin and I was often found in the kitchen making facial masques and scrubs from what I could find in the refrigerator. I fell in love with all things related to skin care and beauty, spending hours in the local drugstore reading labels and investigating ingredients. I continued my obsession into color cosmetics and by seventeen I was an accomplished makeup artist.
In the 1970’s I moved to Southern California where I threw myself into studying the chemical analysis and applied uses of plants, herbs and flowers. I became an aromatherapist and utilized Bach’s flower remedies in my cosmetic creations. I attended Cosmetology School to further my education in skin care though what was available at that time was sorely lacking. I set up a distillery in my kitchen and at age twenty six, created my first anti-aging products based on Comfrey, Irish Moss, Apricot Oil and Essential Oils of Sandlewood, Lavender and Patchouli. After ten years I moved back to Scottsdale and in 1986 I was one of the twelve graduates from the first aesthetic school offered in the state of Arizona.
Shortly after school I was hired by the famous Fairmont Princess Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona where I was privileged to be the only esthetician in their new Spa. Through the years I gained invaluable knowledge by giving facial treatments to skin types from all over the world. From this experience I formed my own theories for treating skin and in 1990 I opened my own business, launched into almost immediate success by the publication my first newsletter reaching all of my former clients from the Princess in the United States, Europe and Asia.
In the 1980’s I taught applied aesthetics at trade shows and training seminars. I was first to teach how to shave clients for deeper exfoliation and enhanced penetration of products, predating Dermaplaning by five years. I was editor and publisher of the Journal for the American Society of Esthetic Medicine in 1985 -86. I have written articles for esthetic journals and maintained a newspaper column on beauty in 1987-88. I continue to publish my newsletter weekly and have maintained a skin care and beauty blog since 2009.
I began formulating my product line in 1995, and continue to add more items as new breakthroughs in ingredient research evolves. Bryant Rushing Skin Care Products are the accumulated knowledge of a lifetime. My insatiable curiosity and forty plus years of experience continues to guide me in finding the newest and most effective ingredients available. I’m confident that Bryant Rushing skincare will be the cosmetically elegant and solution driven answer to your complexion needs.
